I understand the point he was trying to make but not sure the example helped him make it. I do think we have been outsourcing parts of the recruitment process for decades just like we have been outsourcing parts of the HR function for decades. A new acronym sprouted up when providers started putting all components together into an integrated solution.

Really? Posting a job advertisement online or in a newspaper is considered Recruitment Process Outsourcing? I have always considered that "advertising." I certainly do not want to take away from a successful RPO case study, but if we go so far as to define RPO as "placing an ad" than we may as well give up even trying to come to some agreement on the definition. We are worlds apart. A component of a sourcing strategy, yes, but not RPO.
