I know it’s unprofessional to do this in a blog, but I have to say, that I really hate my boss. I don’t think he understands that we all have lives outside the office. He keeps on asking us to do overtime work, and threatening us with low performance evaluation scores if we don’t comply.
Just last week, he asked us to stay in the office for an extra 3 hours. This is a big problem for me as I lived quite far from my place of work. I also wanted to get home that day, since I promised my nine-year…

Last month was probably the most stressful month of my entire college life. Not only do I have to submit my thesis but I would also have to do all my other school work for my philosophy, theology and marketing classes. For some unknown reason, their dead lines suddenly coincided with each other.
I was very harassed during the past month. Everyday, I had to attend meetings, plan out schedules, and write all of those
thesis papers…

One of the best, and most used, applications of the web 2.0 revolution has been to technologically enhance the way we all interact with each other. As we've seen, the "social" web has altered too how employers interact with talent pools. It has also sucked up time and energy on useless efforts to create meaning and hires.
This webcast will share how Microsoft has optimized their recruiters' activities on social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, Myspace, Ning, Twitter, and other key social chan…

Employers tap RPOs for recruitment efficiency and effectiveness, and for thought-leadership and deployment of talent acquisition best practices. In support of the latter Jobs2Web is pleased to be sponsoring this week’s ERE webinar on Sources of Hire, showcasing the 2009 survey data and conclusions of Gerry Crispin of CareerXroads.
Exceptions exist, but I find that our direct clients are pulling more talent acquisition, capture, conversion, and community building levers than RPO-sourced clients.…

Miles Jennings from Talentbar says:
1. Linkedin, Facebook, mySpace, JigSaw, Zoominfo are making people easier to find.
2. That changes the recruiter's function from sourcing to selling candidates on jobs and assessing them for the client
3. To perform these tasks well, a recruiter has to understand the business she is working in better than ever before.…

I'm a fan of the

Reference: Paul Hebert on Fist Full of Talent.
No one is honest when there is a punishment for honesty.
Ask an employee if the incentive program drives her performance and she'll say no. Why? Because she doesn't want to admit (or believe) that she is influenced by a small reward. Then, ask she ever checks her score against her colleagues. Of course she does. They all do.

The HR Capitalist claims that the internet has made recruiters into sissies.
Between 2004 and 2006 everyone had an email account and checked it regularly. All that you, as a recruiter, had to do was email a job description to potential candidates and you would hear back from them toot sweet.
Since 2007 everyone has more than one email address. And the email addresses on their old resumes are rarely checked so you have to tr…
